- 1 Abuelita chocolate tablet
- 4 cups of milk whole milk for a creamier texture
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cinnamon stick optional
- A pinch of salt
In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and water. Add the cinnamon stick if you prefer a spiced flavor. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
Break the Abuelita chocolate tablet into smaller pieces and add them to the saucepan. Stir continuously to help the chocolate melt evenly.
Reduce the heat to low and continue to stir the mixture until the chocolate is fully melted and the drink is smooth. This should take about 5-10 minutes.
Add a small pinch of salt to enhance the flavors of the chocolate. Stir well to incorporate.
Remove the cinnamon stick, pour the hot chocolate into mugs, and enjoy!
