Ingredients
  

  • 1 Abuelita chocolate tablet
  • 4 cups of milk whole milk for a creamier texture
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cinnamon stick optional
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and water. Add the cinnamon stick if you prefer a spiced flavor. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  • Break the Abuelita chocolate tablet into smaller pieces and add them to the saucepan. Stir continuously to help the chocolate melt evenly.
  • Reduce the heat to low and continue to stir the mixture until the chocolate is fully melted and the drink is smooth. This should take about 5-10 minutes.
  • Add a small pinch of salt to enhance the flavors of the chocolate. Stir well to incorporate.
  • Remove the cinnamon stick, pour the hot chocolate into mugs, and enjoy!
