Columbus’ newest Korean BBQ and hot pot option is celebrating its grand opening this week!

One Pot opened their first location earlier this year in Cleveland Heights, and now they’re joining the Columbus dining scene. The eatery follows a similar format to hot pot/barbecue restaurants like KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot, which has already opened several locations in Columbus.

One Pot is taking over the former Joe’s Crab Shack location in Dublin’s Sun Center plaza. The spacious building is perfect for this type of restaurant, which features large, specialized booths with built-in grills and hot soup chambers.

This style of all-you-can-eat restaurant usually gives you a choice between barbecue, hot pot, or both. But the whole table must agree on the same thing.

After you make your selection, they will take your initial order of meat and vegetables. We usually start with 2-3 options per person and you can order more as the dinner progresses.

Hot pot is similar: you choose your broth, vegetables, soybeans, meat, and noodles.

They’ll also take drink orders, then drop you off at the small bar, which offers a variety of sauces, oils, kimchi, and other small bites to complement your meal. The server will turn on the grill and/or your heater for your hot pot, and soon enough small plates will start crowding your table.

We chose the grill on this tour. Sunken grates fill the center of the table and have small vents on the sides that vent the smoke. (Although the restaurant is still a little hazy and you WILL smell smoke by the end of the meal.) But as a group, you start piling your meat and veggies on the grill. The server will offer to spray the grill with oil, but you can also get oil from the sauce bar. We also recommend taking some oil, garlic, onions to “season” your grill as well.

The server will also change the grill during the meal if too many extra particles stick to it.

It should go without saying that these AYCE meals are best for a group, so you can all try different combinations of meats, vegetables, sauces.

It’s a fun experience with kids too, especially if they’re a little adventurous.

Hot Pot is obviously aware that your clothes will smell strong after a meal, so they have a small sprayer near the front door that will spray a mist as you spin. It helped…somewhat.

One Pot is open Sunday to Thursday 11:30am to 10:30pm and Friday to Saturday 11:30am to 11pm
