The Purple Door Cafe is a cute little cafe that is part of Zora’s newly built house in Weinland Park! It is located at the front of the space and is open to the public and serves coffee and snacks

If you’re not familiar with Zora’s House, it’s a non-profit coworking and community space for women of color named after American author Zora Neale Hurston (known, among other things, for her novel Their eyes were on God).
Zora’s House opened its new space on North Fourth Street in the summer of 2024; it’s right around the corner from Huckleberry House, a place for at-risk and homeless youth.

There’s easy parking out front if you’re grabbing coffee and snacks to go, or there are a few tables (and a nice patio) if you want to stay a while.

In addition to coffee, the cash registers are stocked with more drinks, sandwiches, and snacks. You’ll recognize locals like Bake Me Happy, Three Bites Bakery and Too Good Eats.

The Purple Door is currently open from 7:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.
