Friday Food Bites: Dirty Frank’s Campus Open Sow To Go; Ray Ray’s Recharge joins Petty’s Hoof Hearted

There’s always a lot going on in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • Dirty Frank’s Hot Dogs opened their newest location yesterday at 2036 N. High St. near Ohio State’s campus. The space was recently Poke Bros. shop. The new location joins the original Dirty Frank’s downtown, a Worthington carry-out store, a stand at Hollywood Casino and stalls at local ballparks. Dirty Frank’s shared on social media that it will initially be open evenings Wednesday through Sunday, with plans to add lunch hours soon.
  • A takeout version of Upper Arlington’s Sow Plated, called Sow To Go, opened this week at 435 W. Broad St. in Franklinton. Open from 11am to 5pm daily, it serves a mix of SOW’s signature dishes, coffee, smoothies and juices. A second Sow To Go location is coming to Green|House in the Short North.
  • Within the next week, Fifth’s Hoof Hearted Brewing will soon be home to Ray Ray’s Reload food truck. Hoof Hearted opened its own taproom in the old Brothers Drake space earlier this year; while Reload is a new concept truck from the Ray Ray team that debuted at The Bottle Shop this summer.
  • After being closed since July due to a fire, Clintonville’s Harvest Bar + Kitchen reopened this week. This summer, a fire in the back of the building damaged the back entrance and some equipment.
  • Build-your-own sushi spot Fusian has closed its Westerville location at 79 S. State St. The closure was confirmed via Fusian’s social media.
  • Tonight – Friday, November. 8 – Wario’s Beef & Pork will be included Restaurants, discos and diving. (Sorry, I mistakenly shared it as November 1st last week!) Watch it on Food Network at 9pm to see it.
  • Also tonight, Barley’s Brewing releases its annual Christmas Ale at 7:30 p.m. This marks the 23rd annual release of the iconic holiday ale.
  • After a brief closure, Martini Modern Italian reopens today in the Short North, with a remodeled dining room and revamped menu.
  • The Mexpress Taqueria food truck has started parking at 2519 Summit Street, at the corner of Hudson and Summit Streets.
  • North Market Bridge Park is hosting its Taste of the Market Gala this Friday, November. 8.
  • Last month, Echo Spirits Distilling Co. earned a spot on USAToday’s list of the top 10 rum distilleries in the country.
